May First Friday

May First Friday was a lot of fun and we had some great weather to enjoy. The crown was out to enjoy the great day. My friends from R,E, Baker where there too and they introduced me too Green Gober. I let him come with me for the rest of the day and the next days event. We didn't stay very long though had another event the next day. Picture will be up soon!

Race For The Cure 2011

 

After being rained out last year we where so happy to have great weather this year for the annual Susan G Koman Race for the Cure. The crowd was HUGE and i was so happy to see so many people coming out to support a cure. Here are some pics. Oh and you will notice no green hair this time. This are changing for the green haired eco hero. so until then i wont be wearing the green hair as often.

Bentonville Public Library asked me to join in there Earth Day event! I set up the the recycle game and they had my car just outside the doors. There where a lot of kids and parents there despite the rainy weather. They had games and different information on Earth Day. Several art project tables where set up for the little ones to make there own Earth to hang on a tree they had setup. Everyone had a lot of fun. Getting the car at the top of the steps was an event of its own as well as getting it back down. You can see it just outside the window in the top picture.

Earth Day at R,E Baker and then on the Square

I was honored to be asked to meet with Mrs Abrams class at R,E Baker elementary school. This was the third year in a row that i visited her class. With the weather clear we all went out side and had the whole show out there. I was surprised when Mrs Abrams asked me to do 4 more shows for other classes in her school so I stuck around. The kids all had a great time and asked a lot of questions.
After the school event I was onto Earth Day on the square. Put on by 2 schools this year RE baker and Sugar Creek elementary. There where songs about the Earth and a lot of different booths set up to teach these young minds how to keep the planet beautiful. After hundreds of kids sat in Eco One and asked even more questions we called it a day and I headed home. Wow what a great Earth Day.

First School Visit of the Year (and the farthest)

Wow what a Great school! The Green Team at this school has really made some great Eco steps. They have bird houses, bat houses and butterfly houses all over the campus. They have a small creek that they have taken care of for the past few years and even planted trees along its banks. The whole school of over 500 kids came out. As usual they where really smart when it comes to being green. Special thanks to the Green Team and the teachers for having me visit. I had a great time and it looks like the kids did too. I hope they ask me back next year.
